With the same network capacity as traditional routing, ExOR results in high throughput in a multi-hop wireless sensor network. AsOR [3] forwards the data from the source to destination through a sequence of intermediate nodes. The assistant nodes are used to provide protection for unsuccessful opportunistic transmissions. Priority is given to conservation of energy in wireless sensor networks in the implementation of AsOR. EEOR [1] allows one of the neighbours to participate in the forwarding of the data packets, from source to destination in multi-hop transmissions in a wireless sensor network.
