These are things that an rational men are presumed to want, whatever else they may want, that is, whatever their desires, aspirations and conceptions of the good may turn out to be once the veil of ignorance has been lifted (62 and 92). Rawls says of the parties in the original position, 'Guided by the theory of the good and the general facts of moral psychology, their deliberations are no longer guesswork' (143) .
