When I read John McLeod’s Narrative and Psychotherapy,57 it had a major impact on me, and it was through this that I was introduced not only to narrative approaches to therapy, but also to the wealth of ideas exploring storytelling, the nature of reality, the concept of the person and the relationship between selfhood and culture.
